Standing Inside The Fire

(Daniel 3:1-26)
parody of Standing Outside The Fire written by Garth Brooks & Jenny Yates and performed by Garth Brooks

A golden jewel
My artists made my statue so
I want that everyone should know
So asked my nobles to return

These lords I rule
From far-off lands they speak my name
Advance my glory and my fame
And now they come here, each in turn

But you've got to bow down
At the tune of the lyre
Cause if not, well tough, you'll be thrown inside a fire

I called them wrong
Those Jews, Shadrach, Meshach, you know
Who with their friend Abednego
Chose they will never bow or fall

They challenged me!
Greatest king ever to exist
We tied their hands and tied their wrists
With their caps, their capes and all

Turned the heat up by seven
Watched as the fire
Consumed both the guards as they went up by the fire!

Standing inside the fire
Standing inside the fire
I got a fright, they had clearly survived
And were standing inside the fire

There's a fourth man not burning, next to them all
God's son, he looks like to me, how aren't they coal?
Walking beside
Neither on fire
My eyes can't be right - they're standing inside... the fire

Standing inside the fire
Standing inside the fire
They're all untied and their hair isn't fried
They are standing inside the fire

Standing inside the fire
Standing inside the fire
They're all untied and their hair isn't fried
They are standing inside the fire
