Eloi Lama Sabachthani

(Mark 14:32-15:39)
parody of Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me written by Bono & U2 and performed by U2

Disciples kept no lookout
While Jesus prayed that night
The Lord He had been kneeling
In the trees and He got caught
In the torchlight
Of the priest’s guard
Now’s the start

Dressed in robes of purple
Spit on by the guard
They don’t know what they’re doing
Man, it must be hard
With a heart break
And a torn face
Morning Star

Convicted with lies
The witnesses were bribed
Eloi, lama, sabachthani

I don’t know how He got here
I’m drowned out by the crowd
Believe He’s innocent
But now who should I let out
Your Barabbas
Or this man called Jesus
Now

Pilate’s hands are dry
Below the crowd does cry
Hold Him, take Him, hit Him, kill Him

They taunt and torture Jesus
They hung Him on a tree
Thunder, lightning, sky goes black
He’s not alive by time of three
And the curtain rips
Blood-stained crucifix
See the scars

(God’s child)

He gave up His life
You can’t get a higher love
Eloi, lama, sabachthani

I have an idea that this was the first parody I ever started writing, but the second I completed.
