Angel In The Wings

He's got a million-dollar smile
And folks pay thirty bucks for his hairstyle
They've got all his autographed albums
And they pay to hear him sing
No-one ever sees or hears
The angel in the wings

She's gotta sweep up all the aisles
And gets paid thirty bucks for her while
She dreams of one day making an album
But no-one pays to hear her sing
So no one ever sees or hears
The angel in the wings

The lights are down
The curtain's closed
And she takes centre stage
With a broomstick mike
And her cleaning clothes
One step closer to her dreams

She's got a million-dollar smile
And folks pay thirty bucks at the turnstile
They'd walk by her without a second glance
They didn't pay to hear her sing
When will they ever see or hear
The angel in the wings?
